Subject: Re: Applicant

Hi. Thank you for thinking of us. As you may know, I sold my practice earlier this year. I plan to retire at the end of this year. Then, I plan to look into teaching. At this point, I guess I will have to teach undergraduate students, since I don't have my doctorate. Right now, I don't plan to pursue a doctorate. However, I may change my mind. We'll see. Anyway, I will forward this information to our office manager, Pam Seddelmeyer.

You may also know that there is a men's health conference later this month at the Lift. It is part of a Statewide men's health initiative. The State coordinator for this is Mike Leventhal. Last week, He stopped by our office to tell us about the conference. Representative Jimmy Eldridge came with him. Mr. Eldridge seems to be very excited about this men's health initiative and is visiting clinics in the area with Mike to tell them about it. I took it upon myself to invite them to the monthly NP meeting this Thursday so they could announce it to the group. They said that they would love to come. Given the plan to seek full practice authority next year, I thought this might be a great way to introduce representative Eldridge to a group of APN's who can help promote this program that he is so excited about.

I know that a speaker is to be present for the meeting this week, but this is the only chance that we will have to extend a hand to Representative Eldridge before the conference on the 25th. I have known Jimmy for over 20 years. I think he is open minded. I just don't think he's been exposed to many other APN's during his career in the legislature. | don't know the current chair of the West Tennessee APN's. Mike has just confirmed that they can be present Thursday night. Can you get word of what I've done to the chair so that he/she will have a heads up on this? If this presents a problem, I will take full responsibility and personally cancel them. I just think it's too good an opportunity to pass up.

Thanks!
Rick Rickard
